Grünes Siliziumkarbid wird aus hochwertigem Siliciumdioxid und Petrolkoks als Hauptrohstoff hergestellt, wobei Salz als Zusatzstoff hinzugefügt und bei hohen Temperaturen in einem Elektroofen geschmolzen wird. Es wird in verschiedenen Industrien weithin eingesetzt.
